I’m Possible

For the past six years, in my change Cambodia essay, my projectile as a change agent was through academic based. However, I never fully confident in what I wrote because those explorations were the facilitators’ idea. Furthermore, I want to produce my own protein: which is having my own idea. Thus, this year I will give you a new taste− non-academic and money-free.

This is my non-academic changes. Every Sunday, I volunteer to teach frisbee to Camkids students in Kampong Speu, two-hour-drive from Phnom Penh. After half an hour of teaching, I notice that I need to do something to cross this gender tradition between these kids. They won’t hold hands. They won’t stay closer than one meter. They won’t communicate with an opposite sex. They are scared to create the bond between boys and girls. Thus, I used many designated techniques like they must hold hands; They must stand beside an opposite sex; Lastly, they must throw the frisbee to the opposite sex. I felt like a heartless person. However, within a few orders, their body stop wiggling and became a natural collaborator without any designation. Moreover, girls became active and catch the frisbee perfectly.

I used to give my word as a change agent in 2015; that I will “ change my own country with a passion for love.” whether it is possible.

Return back to school after teaching a life-lesson to the Camkids kids I pray to god that they — boys and girls— will develop their strength on burying down their tradition— girls shouldn’t touch boys or surround by them. Furthermore, I want them to believe that things are not meant to be specific to boy or girls especially frisbee— allows boys and girls to collaborate, but we, human, judge and pass on a traditional belief.

Now, I think I practice as Papa John said: “ do not walk through time without leaving worthy evidence of your passage.” And this will impact how I approach as a change agent. I want to repeat my word as a change agent again that I am pleased to serve my country with positive changes not just in one direction— not only through academic.
