Hi! My name is Sreyneang. I was born in the rural community of Takeo and learned in a normal government school in Cambodia until the age of ten. I have a very determined and motivated disposition. My goal is to receive good grades and attend university so that I can further my education and have a successful career.
As a Liger student, I realize that the purpose of education is not just to get a job, but also be the change I wish to see in the world, as Gandhi stated. Thus, Liger curriculum encompasses the skills and knowledge needed to solve societal problems.
In 2015 and 2016 I was involved in a global competition for girls called Technovation, a program designed to encourage technology among young girls and build an app that can solve problems in one’s community. Because of the disparity between girls and boys, I have committed to using my voice so that this gap can be reduced between the genders. I am a girl passionate about equality and human rights. We are all equal and deserve to be treated as so.
If you are learning physic, do you just learn and solve various of concepts? However, the based on Physics’ definition in study.com stated that “Physic is a branch of science that helps us understand how objects, forces, and energy all interact. Thus, for a class project presentation, I had researched on the “physic behind boxing”. Obviously, I am not planned to become a boxer but it is a way that people use to punish each other in a certain way. Furthermore, I will learn the technique to protect myself.
Basically, I did a general research on boxing. Thus, there is four related formula in physic that used in calculating the force of the punch. Punching is what every boxer has to understand in order to apply enormous force to their opponent. The formula is kinetic energy, force, momentum, and impulse. Kinetic energy happens when boxer reaching their hand out to punch their opponent which means the energy has converted from potential energy to kinetic energy. As last three formulas have a common on “mass” which points to a point that in order to provide your opponent to experience the bigger force, you need to create momentum. Which result to be “you need to have fast moved”, not stretching your hand too far and return back slowly.
Question: How does Dahl use the device of foreshadowing in the story “The Landlady”?
The author of “The Landlady” named Roald Dahl uses a device of foreshadowing which is a way of indicating future events guided by glues to the reader to analyze and consider carefully; Normally, those events are unfavorable, unsatisfied, and hair-raising. As stated in the story, “ Animals were usually a good sign…” This clearly shows an expression of foreshadowing that the author used to warn how unusual was it to have a parrot in a boarding-house which a witch’s house would have. Intentionally, Dahl wants to express that Billy entered an unknown house that looked mysteriously creepy by the time he needed a place to stay. However, Billy experienced instantaneously as a woman appeared right at the time he rang the bell. In the meantime, the reader could clearly picture the landlady’s unnatural reactions and noticed that Billy was risking his life as he stepped into that house. The quote stated, “I stuff all my little pets myself when they pass away. ” Secondly, this statement was stated by the landlady all of a sudden to tell that she stuffed her pet after they died of Billy. Since she stuffed her pets, would she also stuff human? This is where the author provides a hint to the reader that Billy better find a new resident or stay away from the landlady. Therefore, she could be an oaf or someone that had lost a son in the war upon her responded actions which could easily harm the young man. Furthermore, the text stated, “This last entry is over two years old.” Which in this case the text prompts that the house wasn’t in used for two years. In fact, there were only two gentlemen that had entered this house and not even leave yet. In detail, Dahl arouses a clue that Billy won’t be able to escape the house no matter what happened, maybe he could be like the two men. As can be seen, the author ends the story b prompting questions; What had happened to the two young men? What would happen to Billy? Hence, the author uses the foreshadowing device in this short story to give and express peculiar occurrences step by step which emphasizes the story much more motivated, courageous, and persuaded to read, as well as, making predictions and prompting questions while reading.
On the Halloween day, my teacher made everyone work together to illustrate an indescribable, dreadful, and frighten that elaborate a creative mindset together in a group table. I had edited the text, however, I didn’t embellish this text into a descriptive essay that really motivates you as a reader due to my lack of skill in writing a narrative essay. Even so, please enjoy.
As I carefully entered the haunted house, the door shut behind me and a person showed up in a white dress calling out my name. Suddenly, her bloody hand was on my shoulder. I could feel the creepiness of the room with the putrid smell as my eyes were open, nevertheless, it’s like shut. I couldn’t see a thing. I got panic and ran straight ahead. When I reach the bedroom door, then there were legs hanging down and blood dripped over my head. I looked at me and see a woman with horror hated eyes and black teeth. Then, she grabbed me until I couldn’t move.
When I opened my eyes it was just a dream. I stormed out of my room to tell my mom about the nightmare but my mom was dead. There was a knife on her neck. It seems like someone must have come to murder my mom when she was preparing food because she’s still standing. I walked towards my brother’s room and see his head on his pillow lacking a body. I was shocked but then I walked up to find my dad and suddenly a creepy ghostly come out from my dad rooms with chopstick sticking out of his nose holes. I was scared but then I took my phone out and ask the ghost if I can take a selfie with him and send to my group chat. I got a lot of likes. Then, I kept taking photos and uploaded for my friends to see. However, after taking several photos the monstrous guy opened his mouth and swallowed my phone. I hit his head and hardly dragging my phone from his mouth. Then, he slowly swallowed my hands till I’m gone. That’s how my Halloween end.
Tedx talk is an exhibit for people to shout out their voice to the world with persuading speeches. I got an invitation to TEDx ISPP from Chimean, my best friend, which she talked about the clean, harmless, renewable energy which the “solar energy”. She had rocked the stage with her attractive voice in influencing the change of Cambodia toward future used with solar energy. However, it wasn’t only her to stand up in the spot of light and presented to hundreds of people; There were good-looking boys and girls stood up with braveness and present incredibly unbelievable on their astonishing topic. Furthermore, I love Narak’s ending speech, Junior at the Liger Leadership Academy, to say that he was inspired by technology and all of a sudden he turned from being an uneducated young boy to become such a highly educated genius.

There are three journalists came to Liger for a week visit. I assign with two friends to be a tour guide for Ron, Good Morning America journalist, to the killing field. He was fascinated by the Cambodia dark story, Khmer Rouge Genocide. Personally, I act in the First They Killed My Farther movie which gave me to picture the love that was broken by the Khmer Rouge. Also, I acted for Liger Khmer Rouge Exploration as a little girl during Khmer Rouge based on a scenario of comparison between the living before and during Khmer Rouge. It was my pleasures to share and distribute to the world to understand what we are doing in Liger, but most importantly to project a terrifying genocide that was happened to Cambodians.
I spent 7 weeks in learning the foundation and history of animation from a teacher named Sothea, an animator at iThinkAsia. Which of all the lessons, my favorite was to draw out our storyboard skit. I worked with my two friends in processing a story of a boy living in the animal world, which he became the leader due to his personalities, behaviors, and all his actions toward all the animals. So, this story obviously gives a message of “you might be small today, but not tomorrow.” Furthermore, another one is that “friendship can be broken based on jealousy from his best friend”. However, my group hasn’t turned it into animation. In short, what I love about animation is based on the process of entertaining people in an innovative way like learning human action and turn into a benevolent woman or superhero. Also, one cool thing about Japanese animation and Disney animation is that Disney works more on realistic than Japanese animation does.
Currently, my exploration has a combination of three different tasks. Two of them are my group which are ImEx and Tos Tov. I wrote lots and lots of story about ImEx how it would benefit farmers. However, after doing the marketing research of the Cambodian’s market I found out that there is a necessary gap that we tried to help farmers, in Anglong Chin and sellers in Orssey Market, DerKor Market, and Bonkang Kog, were saying they like the way they are and
Currently, I studied geometry in Khan Academy on the transformations section. In transformations, there are sub-subjects such as reflection, translation, rotation, and dilation. My teacher is brilliant at teaching, however, this subject isn’t one of them, so I learn independently from Khan. In order to maximise my learning, I have two books for formula and class practice. As a student I always curious about a variety of solutions to solve one problem. Usually, I search GOOGLE and YOUTUBE for more outside knowledge. This is how I behave as a student to maximise my learning.
